    Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers

Burgers are probably one of my favorite foods.  When in Los Angeles, there are a ton of places I know that will take care of my craving like Rick’s (2400 Fletcher Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90039) or Pacific Burgers (8019 Stewart and Gray Rd, Downey, CA 90241).  When I’m in Nevada, I normally turn to Shake Shack or In N Out to do the trick.  The other day, I was craving a good hamburger, so I asked out loud while at work….”Are there any good hamburger places in this area?”   Two people immediately replied Freddy’s!  So, I decided to give it a try today.

As soon as I got there, the smell of the steakburgers hit my nose, and I knew the food would be good.  To top it off, they have a Pumpkin Pie Concrete for a limited time right now (Fresh & creamy frozen custard, blended with a whole slice of rich pumpkin pie, crust and all. Topped with whipped cream and sprinkled with cinnamon.)

Since it is my first time here, I ordered a hamburger, all beef hot dog, and a chicken sandwich along with the Pumpkin Pie custard.  Before I get to the food, the staff was just amazing here.  The person who took my order didn’t mind at all that I had a bunch of questions.  The person who gave me my custard, and the person who gave us our food was all smiles.  The interior was very clean, and well maintained unlike a lot of the other restaurants in this area.

Ok, so how was the food?  The food was good.  Honestly, the hamburger was not as good as I expected.  I would give the burger 3.5 out of 5 stars at best.  The hot dog and the chicken sandwich were a a different story.  Especially the all beef hot dog, which came on a toasted bun, was delicious.  The spicy chicken sandwich, which was very well cooked and seasoned, comes with just pickles in a bun (Chick fil-a like), so you can add your choice of sauce to the chicken sandwich to your liking.

The Frozen Custards seem to be really popular here.  Although I only tried the Pumpkin Pie Concrete this time, the other frozen custards looked delicious.

Ok, so when I look at overall taste, price, and quality of Freddy’s, it was definitely good, but does not compare to Shake Shack or In N Out for me.  The next time I want a burger, I probably won’t be going to Freddy’s, however I do want to go back and try their Grilled Chicken Breast Sandwich, and some more of their other deserts.  I saw some good reviews about their onion rings, which I will try next time also.  The seasoning on the fries were a little too much.  Regardless of where I go, I never have fries leftover, however I did with Freddy’s.  =)
