The Strand House – Manhattan Beach – Great food with a great view

Ever since I was young, I was really picky with my food.  My mom told me when I was a baby, I would throw all my food on the ground, and not eat unless she brought me what I wanted.  As I got older, I felt like it started to get a little better, but after I got GERD, I started to get really picky again.  I’m really picky with what I eat, but its even worse when it comes to trying a new restaurant.

While in Manhattan Beach, I walked around the area looking for a familiar sign like Denny’s or McDonald’s for brunch.  Of course you won’t find any by the pier, so I decided to go to the restaurant with the best view.  That happened to be The Strand House.  The Strand House is basically the last restaurant on Manhattan Beach Boulevard before you hit the pier.  The Strand House is a 3 story structure, with a very nice interior, and a awesome view, regardless of if you sit inside or out on the patio.  Initially I sat on the Patio, but after feeling the California sun starting to get stronger and stronger, I asked to move inside.  The super friendly staff was amazing.  As picky as me and my group is, I was very amazed at how polite the staff was.  Aside from our complicated food order, I kept asking for hot water,  (Which helps with my GERD, and indigestion) and I was always greeted with a smile.

The food?  Exactly what you expect, from what you order.  When you are as picky as I am, the worst thing is when you order food, expecting one thing, and you get something totally different.  Well at the Strand House, all of our food was exactly what we were expecting.  With different people, and different taste buds, and everyone happy with the food ( We all shared our food ), what else can you ask for?  I will definitely be coming here again!

Based on my pictures you may be thinking, brunch tacos, omelette, and a waffle.  How can that not be tasty?  My point exactly!  I will not name any names, but I have been to restaurants, where I would order similar items, and leave most of it there.  Add mediocre service on top of that, and there goes your Sunday brunch.  With the Strand House great service, great food, great beer on tap, and great prices, I HIGHLY recommend this place!
