Dino’s Chicken – Is it really that good? YES IT IS!

The first time I ever tried Dino’s chicken, maybe 10 years ago, a friend actually had to sort of force me to go there with him.  I remember asking him why we are getting chicken from a no name place.  He looked at me like I’m crazy because I have never tried Dino’s Chicken.  We go there, I take my first bite, and I knew I came across something special.  I actually ended up going to Dino’s for the next 5 or 6 days straight.

Located at 2575 Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90006, on the corner of Pico and Berendo, Dino’s open’s early in the morning for customers who want breakfast, and closes around midnight.  They have other locations too now, in Azusa, Pico Rivera, Pomona, and Huntington Park.  I have not been to any of the other locations, but since it is a family owned business, I’m sure they are just as good as the Los Angeles location.  Most of the time, there will be a line there.  Yes, it is that good.

Although most people like myself come to pickup their food, and take it home with them, they do have a dining area, and couple tables outside as well.  All day you will see people in front of you ordering Pastrami, Cheeseburgers, their famous DUI Fries…..but for me it’s the chicken that keeps me going back, again and again…and again.

Even when I lived in Los Angeles, I needed my Dino’s fix regularly.  Now that I live in Las Vegas now, it’s one of the foods that I crave most.  Yes, I know there are a lot of nice restaurants in Los Angeles, but Las Vegas has nice restaurants too.  I can’t find a single place that makes chicken, or sauce like Dino’s does.  I think every trip I make to L.A, I go to Dino’s at least once.  If not, at least every other time.

The downside of Dino’s?  I cannot say anything bad about their food.  I’m sure not everyone likes Dino’s as much as I might, but also I haven’t seen a person that didn’t like Dino’s yet.  One of my close friends household actually has a Dino’s every Friday rule.  Sometimes trying to find parking, and the long lines have made people go somewhere else instead of waiting and waiting, but other than that, Food is delicious, staff is always friendly, and is a must try place when you are in Los Angeles.

Some of my friends get chicken and rice……some get chicken and fries.  I know this sounds a little obvious, but I would recommend getting Chicken, Rice, and Fries.  Try it, along with their cole slaw and tortillas.  The “Greek Marinade” they use is something you will not taste anywhere else.  I’ve tried a few recipes, and couldn’t come close.  I read somewhere that only family members know how to make their special sauce, or as they say “juice”  D.I
