Vdara – Aria – Las Vegas – Hotel

Ok, I don’t normally post about Hotels in Las Vegas…just because there are so many different variations, with different pricing, and different levels.  I decided to do a posting of Vdara though, because so many people have asked me about Vdara.  Vdara is only steps away from the strip, but you will feel like you are no where near the strip.  For starters there is no Casino in the building.  The lobby just has a registration desk, few lounges, and a Starbucks.  Mornings are full of guests walking their dogs.  Very different from a regular Las Vegas Hotel.

Now that doesn’t mean that you are that far away from the strip either.  From the lobby, you can walk down the hall and head straight into the Bellagio, or you can walk outside and walk across the Valet area to the Aria.  A standard room was booked, but nonetheless the room was beautiful.  Great view, kitchen, nice design, great for families!

The room wasn’t quite as luxurious as the rooms at Aria, but was still great.  A small dining table, desk, and also a sofa that turns into a bed was also a nice touch.  The restroom had a separate shower and a hot tub.

Once night time came around, the shades were all opened with the touch of a button, and a beautiful view is just outside.  A nice view, and a nice bottle of wine go hand in hand.

Another cool thing that you will notice not only here, but at other hotels too are the robots.  That’s right, I said robots.  You can have a robot bring you your morning coffee, or a snack, or amenities with the touch of a button on the rooms tablet.

The robot travels on it’s own, accesses the elevator on it’s own, and once the robot comes to you, the order is inside the lid on top.  Pretty amazing, robot’s are definitely popping up everywhere.  I am a little concerned about robots taking over jobs though.

As I mentioned earlier, once you go downstairs to the lobby, and walk out the door, you are steps away from Aria.  We decided to grab a bite at Cafe Aria while we were there.  We ordered the Rib-Eye steak, and some wings.  The steak was delicious, the wings were not bad however they were not traditional wings.  Whenever you order hot wings, you expect the standard Tabasco tasting wings.  The wings here were not bad, however the sauce was not a taste that we were used to.

My overall experience with Vdara was definitely great.  Again, great for families with kids, pets, or just people who don’t want to go through a casino to get to your room while in Vegas.  The room had great circulation, even after using the oven.  If you ever plan to visit Vdara, you cannot get in through Las Vegas Blvd, you have to go through the entrance on Harmon.  Once you are driving on Harmon, you will see signs that lead you to the Vdara entrance as you pass Cosmopolitan.
