Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque Du Soleil – Mandalay Bay

A friend of ours came to town, and we decided to go watch Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque Du Soleil at Mandalay Bay.  This is definitely one of the best shows in Las Vegas.  In my opinion, the only show I liked better than this one would have to be my #1 Favorite “O” at Bellagio, also by Cirque Du Soleil.

The perfectly choreographed dance moves, along with some of Michael Jackson’s greatest songs, will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end of the show.  One of the persons that went with us isn’t even a Michael Jackson fan, but they loved the show too, so this show is not only for fans.

Michael Jackson ONE, like any other Cirque Du Soleil show that I’ve seen, is not just crazy acrobatics.  On top of that There are story lines, multiple things going on at once, awesome effects, and my personal favorite, live music and instruments.  This particular show starts off with 4 “Misfits” who go on a journey and receive white gloves, white socks and black shoes, hat and sunglasses. I do not want to spoil the show for you so I will not go into anymore of the story line, however I must tell you this.  Towards the end of the show, a singing, dancing, performing hologram of Michael Jackson comes out on stage, and it is awesome!

While waiting for the show to start, they get pictures of the people in the audience, and put funny tabloid type articles on the side.  Pretty funny.

I wanted to take more pictures of the performance, but I was so into the show, that I wasn’t able to.  (And also out of respect for the performers).  Our tickets were $115.73 a person, and our seats center, maybe 65% towards the back?  Not the best seats, but I liked the seat location a lot.  I tried watching Le Reve at the Wynn, and KA at MGM sitting in the first row…..it wasn’t that great.

Michael Jackson, the “King of Pop” is one of the best singer, song-writer, performers of all time.  MJ is estimated to have earned about $750,000,000 during his career.  He sadly passed away on June 25th, 2009.  Google, and a lot of the internet actually crashed when MJ passed away.  He will be missed.
