Tips and Tricks – Hopper App – Best tool for buying airlines tickets!

What is HOPPER?  hopper.com says “Hopper tells you when to book and when to wait for both flights and hotels.  Oh, and it’s free!”

I hate flying, and the people who know me, know that I hate flying.  So, when I told my co-worker that I may fly to Chicago soon for a family matter, it grabbed his attention right away.  My co-worker asked if I use Hopper.  As soon I gave him a funny look, he explained to me that through hopper, he was able to find tickets to Cancun for under $200, when everyone was asking for around $500.  Sounded cool, but there are a ton of apps and websites that do that.  And then he told me that hopper also tells you if you should wait before buying, or if you should buy right away, and continues to monitor your requested dates to your destination, and lets you know when to book.  WOW!  Now he had my attention.

He told me no matter how much he explained it to me, it would be better for me to just download the free app, and give it a try, so I did.

Once I input the destination (Chicago), and the dates I was thinking of going, immediately hopper gave me some useful information.  The price prediction showed that prices will vary in the next 4 months dropping as low as $128.  Hopper told me that prices will rise after February 17th ($15).  Hopper also told me that prices will climb $114 after February 25th.  How cool is that!

You can also compare current prices of airline tickets if you were to book right away.  Very useful tool for anyone who plans on traveling.  After playing with the app for a while, I knew I had to share this information with the people who haven’t heard of hopper yet.  1 day passes, and I get an alert from hopper…..telling me to wait, and not to buy my ticket yet.

Wow!  So even though I forgot about the app, the app didn’t forget about my future plans to fly.

I must say, although I rarely fly, I always bought tickets by going to the airlines website, and then priceline, and then expedia, etc….to see who has the best prices…..and then just bought the ticket then and there.  Now with hopper, not only will hopper shop for the best rate for me, hopper will also let me know when to buy for the best deal.  Thank you hopper!
