Christmas is my favorite time of the year.  I probably put up my Christmas tree before anyone I know, and also start listening to Christmas carols sooner than anyone.  I watch Home Alone (1 and 2, not 3), the Grinch, Family Man, and other Christmas movies.  Another thing I enjoy doing during the Holidays is go to different Christmas events like decorations and lightings.  

So far this year, I think my favorite place is Winters Village @ Green Valley Ranch.  I’ve been to Green Valley Ranch before, however I’ve never been to this side of GVR.  It is just beautiful.  That is the best way I can describe it.

Once you walk down the stairs and walk passed the cabanas and the pool, you will be greeted by Christmas carols, kids playing games, ice skating, and adults enjoying themselves at the fire pits and the bar area.

Just like Cosmopolitan, there is no entrance fee or charge for entering the area.  Of course there is a charge for renting the skates.  The rates were $25 for 6 years and older, and $15 for children 15 and under.

Just in this area I saw 1 full bar, another smaller bar by the skating area, along with a snack shop and souvenir shop.  If you aren’t drinking today, they also sell hot cocoa, and of course there is a Starbucks just inside the hotel.  

Across from here, where the shops and residences are, there are more restaurants and a Coffee Bean.  They also had a small Santa Clause there.  You can take pictures with Santa for a small fee.

It looks like this year Station Casinos is having a Winter’s Village at Green Valley Ranch and also at Red Rock Casino.  I haven’t seen the Red Rock Casino setup yet, however if it is as good as GVR, I will take pictures and post them up.

Happy Hour at Winter’s Village
Enjoy Two for One on ALL drinks at Frost Lounge and Bar Monday through Thursday from 4pm to  7pm.

Skating is $20 per person and ice skate rentals are included. If Chairman Boarding Pass holder, you receive Free Entry (for up to four (4) guests) and skate rental included also. For Green Valley Ranch only President Boarding Pass holder, you and a plus one (1) will receive complimentary skate entry Sunday thru Thursday valid once through December 22. To pick up your tickets, visit the Rewards Center with your boarding pass card and picture ID.

Skate times may be limited to 90 minutes based on capacity. Advance tickets are available here and at the rink starting 15 minutes prior to opening. No refunds or exchanges. All skaters must sign a waiver before participating and a parent signature is required if under 18.

Giving Back for the Holiday Season

Have fun at Winter’s Village while knowing that you are also giving back to our community! A portion of the proceeds from Winter’s Village will be donated to St. Jude’s Ranch for Children, a local non-profit that provides housing, nurturing, support programs and love for abused and neglected children in Nevada.
